NHS Vice President
The vice president’s primary (and very necessary) role is to serve as the official replacement for the president should the president fail to function or be unable to fulfill his or her responsibilities. The vice president is the president’s closest student adviser and assistant. The vice president and president must work very closely together to create a productive Honor Society.
The president serves as the point-person—the person out in front of everyone. The vice president serves as the behind-the-scenes person who plans, organizes, schedules, and oversees to make sure the chapter work is done.
To be successful, the vice president needs to:
- Keep point sheet up to date
- Fill in for president at meetings if they are unable to attend
- Send reminders for upcoming events to students who have signed up
- Be organized with good time management skills
- Have sound judgment
- Have energy and be engaging when speaking in front of a large group
- Be able to work with many different kinds of people and personalities
- Have a good relationship with the president, chapter members, committees, and the student body
Junior Class NHS President
The junior president will lead junior class NHS meetings, attend all officer meetings to relay information to the junior class, and speak on matters on behalf of the junior class. In the event that the president and vice president are unable to attend or lead a meeting, the junior president would step in. The junior president should have aspirations of applying for an officer position their senior year as well.
The junior president is expected to:
- Run meetings/ post announcements in GC for juniors
- Find volunteer opportunities for the chapter
- Send notifications when students are no-shows and how many points they will be deducted
- Know how to handle many types of situations
- Be organized with good time management skills/ Have sound judgment
- Have energy and be engaging when speaking in front of a large group
- Be able to work with many different kinds of people and personalities
- Have a good relationship with the chapter, faculty, and student body
NHS Outreach Chair
The primary role of the outreach chair is to contact outside organizations in search of potential volunteer opportunities. This person should be able to write professional emails and communicate with members of the Ladue community in a timely, respectful manner. The outreach chair must be able to lead a group discussion, encourage others to share their ideas, and effectively communicate with the other officers and sponsors about upcoming volunteer opportunities. The outreach chair will also be responsible for confirming service with outside organizations if students submit volunteer hours that were not offered by Ladue NHS.
The public relations chair is expected to:
- Create and foster relationships with outside organizations in which the NHS can volunteer and serve
- Communicate effectively and professionally over email and phone with Ladue community members
- Create and foster relationships with all Ladue elementary school and the middle school principals in order to help serve their volunteer needs

- Proactively look for volunteer opportunities for the chapter
NHS Public Relations Chair
The role of the public relations chair is to promote the National Honor Society within the Ladue School District and Community. You will send a monthly update of chapter accomplishments out to the district and run our social media accounts. The main function of the public relations chair is to ensure the community sees what we are doing as a chapter.
The public relations chair is expected to:
- Run our Ladue NHS instagram account and social media
